Community is extremely important to R&F. Below are a few examples of R&F's community involvement:
As we face the challenge of COVID-19, we believe it's important to continue to help others, and what better recipient than our local hospital. Below are pictures of R&F staff answering "the call."

R&F Construction Supports Youth Mental Health - R&F was proud to be the lead sponsor for the annual Old Fort Puck Hogs Hockey Tournament, a charity tournament that supports Cody’s House Youth Centre. It was an honor to join Kari and Ken Smith, Cody’s parents, who have turned their grief into acceptance through the vision of Cody’s House. Cody's House's main purpose is to help youth with mental health issues gain their voice as well as provide assistance and aid to struggling youth in their healing and growing process.
Together, we can make the vision of Cody's House Youth Centre a reality.
If you would like to help end the silence of suicide, please reach out to Cody's House at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Rick and R&F support our community in many ways, including the (occasional) golf tournament in support of the many worthy charities in and around Orillia. This summer, the list has grown to include the Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation, Mariposa House Hospice, Kawartha Haliburton Childrens' Foundation and Community Care Kawartha Lakes.
R&F Construction DKI were featured in the news several times during the month of March and April 2019, specifically about youth in skilled trades. Rick Rimkey of R&F is passionate about educating the local youth to consider construction as a career option and looks forward to participating in more events like Twin Lake's "Explore the Trades." The event was attended by more than 1200 students hoping to gain insight into potential careers in local Manufacturing and Construction sectors. R&F "hit the nail on the head" in providing information at their booth and staging a wildly successful nail driving challenge, which had approximately 300 students participating in the competition. Two winners drove spikes into a wood beam with incredible speed (4.9 seconds and 3.6 seconds), earning them each a new cordless drill and drill kit.
One of Orillia & District Construction Association's (ODCA) 2018 Community Projects involved the Orillia Fire Department, Home Depot and R&F Construction. The September 29th demonstration was to show the community how to prevent fires before they happen, test early warning devices and prepare a quick exit plan. The Fire Prevention Week kick-off event had live demos, including the burning of two units constructed by R&F and members of the ODCA.
